Brian O’Flaherty and Julie McDermid are a capable and adaptable editor–designer team with 35-plus years’ experience in book production, with an excellent reputation for their personalised editorial and design services.        We prepare books from manuscript to print, including structural and copy editing, proofreading, indexing, design and layout of text and covers, and print management.

I am a very experienced book editor, always sensitive to the client’s requirements, adding value to a wide range of books and documents. I have applied my broad general knowledge to many subject areas, although I’m especially good at botany, gardening, natural history, outdoors, history and culture, sport, health, and business. I also bring an editor’s eye to assembling comprehensive indexes.

Julie

I provide design and layout for book internals and covers, from simple to complex, fiction and non-fiction, trade and educational, including those with large numbers of photographs and illustrations. I enjoy working with clients to produce outstanding books.

In case you’re wondering, Punaromia is the name of an area bordering Lake Tarawera in Aotearoa New Zealand with which we have both had a long connection.
